Customer from China benefited from Schröter’s comprehensive service. The project was carried out together with AmTrade.

The Republic of China is currently still subject to extensive travel restrictions. The Schröter team has turned this hardship into a blessing and set new standards with intensive documentation and online support.

This was necessitated by a project carried out by the company’s US distributor AmTrade Systems, Inc. A long-time customer of AmTrade‘s operates a joint venture in a major Chinese city that needed two large hot smokehouses. The contract includes, among other things, supervising installation by a local installation crew as well as bringing the systems into service by AmTrade’s trained personnel. The problem was that due to the country’s entry restrictions, it wasn’t possible to send specialized personnel from the United States or Germany. The initial response was to hire a subcontractor to perform the installation under the customer’s guidance and supervision.

But this meant that an important aspect of the project was missing – the know-how.Preinstallation, intensive documentation, and a daily web service call ensured that the systems were brought into operation on schedule. Each unit was manufactured, assembled, fully tested, dismantled, and then packed and shipped to China. During this process, an experienced engineer prepared detailed documentation that included both photos and written instructions.

This full service was rounded out by daily video conferences with all those involved. The web support was supplemented by a group chat on WeChat (a Chinese chat app) for any questions. “We were pleasantly surprised at how quickly the project progressed and how easily we could exchange information with the technicians on site,” says a pleased Fritz Ostmeyer, Head of Support at Schröter.

The end result:
the systems were installed professionally and on time. And the customer is delighted. Last but not least, all parties involved cut their travel costs and saved time, and not having to take multiple flights also had a positive impact on the carbon footprint.
